Me Me Me....

I'm back!

Sue and I have been in Mexico for the last two weeks and it was pretty damned awesome. Obviously I took one or two photos (about 2100 actually) and it's going to take me some time to work through them all and come up with some fancy words to go with them. It took over 90 mins just to upload them all and so far I've only had a cursory glance at a quarter of them; clearly this is going to keep me busy for weeks to come. I've only had 5 hours sleep in the last two days and I'm off to bed now so there's not going to be anything exciting up here tonight.

In the meantime, here are some photos all taken by Sue. She said that there aren't enough photos of me on this blog and that I should put some up. So here are a select bunch that, I think, show me at my finest. I hope you agree. I'll endeavour to get a proper post up by next weekend but I'll be celebrating my birthday so no promises.

Chichen Itza is really detracting from this great portrait of me

The cathedral on Mexico City's zocalo has slightly upstaged this otherwise excellent picture of me

Here's a nice one of me by a tree

MexiGo!

Right, you lot, time to take another trip. Sue and I will be arriving in Mexico tomorrow, somewhere I have wanted to visit since I was a child. You won't be surprised to hear that it is the history of the country that has mostly been the driver behind this but also, having spent several months in various parts of Latin America and Spain; the culture, the food, the music, the language and the people are all things I'm pant wettingly excited about returning to.

As a rough itinerary we will be doing something like Cancun, Tulum, Chichen Itza, Campeche, Palenque, Oaxaca, Veracruz and Mexico City; although the further into that you go the less pinned down it becomes, we'll probably just wing it for the last week or so.

I hear there have been a few earthquakes in the north west of the country lately, not a region we'll be visiting, but there hasn't been any significant damage or injuries, hopefully it'll stay that way.

I was hoping to get the new version of my website launched before I left but a lot of my spare time has been taken up practising Spanish of late so it's just going to have to wait. It should, if I have any clue what I'm doing, look a lot better, have plenty more new content and be in HTML5, which the kids seem very excited about these days. Once it's done I'll try to keep it more up to date than the last one, although this blog will still be the site I update most frequently.

Anyway, yo soy ir a el aeropuerto, hasta luego!

Abstracted Animals

The last time I posted a series of photos on animal close ups it seemed to be pretty popular so here are some new ones that I took the other day on a trip to Paradise Wildlife Park. No prizes for guessing what any of them are this time, they're all nice and easy. My favourite is definitely the leopard.....
